My focus in this article will be to give you an overview of how Industrial Embroidery works with demystifying a few of its processes. We use to see embroidery Digitizing on daily basis in our house, offices, on streets etc. People all over the world today use embroidery decorations whether it is embroidery on clothes, embroidery decoration pieces etc. This wide use of embroidery on textile for interiors, on clothing and other accessories has become a part of our life. Embroidery as compared to print has high luster, is three dimensional and has textured effects. It adds value to any product or item and it has quality in both tactical and visual consumer appreciation fields.

Working of Embroidery Machines:

The embroidery machines to for Embroidery Digitizing we see today are specially designed machines which are computer controlled. They consist of an Embroidery Head in which multiple needles are fixed and a frame holder in which the product (shirt or any garment) is being fixed. This frame holder known as pantograph moves in two directions in order to sew the embroidery design. The directions in which the frame holder moves are the ‘x’ and ‘y’ axis directions. The field (grid) in which the design is being created have ‘x’ axis as the horizontal direction and ‘y’ axis as its vertical direction. So, the machine reads the values of ‘x’ and ‘y’ axis for example: x250, y850. After reading these values the machine moves its pantograph in the same positions.

From computer to Machine:

With the help of special digitizing software, embroidery designs are being created. Artwork is being carried out and routs are plotted for the needles of embroidery machine, so that it can easily function. Through stitches the design is being made and whatever color threads are required all of it are present in softwares. Once the design is completed in computer its file is converted to the file format which the machine supports. The design is then submitted to machine’s memory after which the machine automatically implements it.
